The Fondation Vallet is not “perennial.” Lasting is not its main requirement. But it wishes to exist for several generations, especially if some generous donors or testators help the Fondation along. Its coordinators’ youth push the Fondation forward. And in order to last, we must stay focused. Unless a major event occurs, it will stay between Paris, Porto-Novo and Hanoi even though its center of gravity remains the Latin Quarter of Paris, and besides, according to Emmanuel Mounier, Benin is the “Latin Quarter of Africa.”
